Lime Margarita with Dehydrated Lime Garnish

The ultimate party starter. A perfectly balanced Margarita crowned with a dried lime garnish.

The Margarita is the world’s most ordered cocktail — and for good reason. It’s the perfect balance of tart, sweet, salty, and boozy, with lime at the center of everything. But here’s the problem with fresh lime garnishes: they brown in minutes, they’re inconsistent in size, and prepping them for a busy service or a big party is tedious. Citrus House dehydrated lime slices solve every one of those problems. Each dried lime wheel is cut from whole Persian limes and slow-dried at low temperature to preserve the vibrant green color and tart citrus aroma. When you float one on a Margarita or perch it on the rim, it stays perfect for the entire drink — no browning, no wilting, and absolutely zero prep.

Ingredients

60ml Blanco tequila
30ml Fresh lime juice
20ml Triple sec
10ml Agave syrup

How to Make a Classic Lime Margarita

  1. 1 Rim a coupe or rocks glass with salt and fill with ice.
  2. 2 Add tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and agave syrup to a shaker with ice.
  3. 3 Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.
  4. 4 Strain into the prepared glass and garnish with a Citrus House Dehydrated Lime slice.

Tips & Technique

A great Margarita comes down to balance. Start by rimming your glass — use a coupe for elegance or a rocks glass for a more relaxed serve. Run a lime wedge around the rim and dip in flaky sea salt (kosher salt works too). In a cocktail shaker, combine 60ml of blanco tequila, 30ml of fresh lime juice, 20ml of triple sec (Cointreau is the gold standard), and 10ml of agave syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds. You want it cold and frothy. Strain into your prepared glass over fresh ice (rocks) or straight up (coupe). Now add the finishing touch — a Citrus House dried lime slice. It floats beautifully in the glass and the dehydrated lime slowly releases its natural oils as you drink. For batch Margaritas, dried lime garnishes are even more valuable — you can garnish 50 drinks in under a minute with no cutting board in sight.
